The thirty two cases of ovarian tumors in pregnancy among 8,436 pregnancies (3,865 deliveries) seen at the Dept. of OB. & GY., sung shim Hospital, Chung. Ang University, from Hanuary 1,1970 to Cecember 31 1976 were clinically observed and statistically reviewed. The results were summarized as follows; 1. the incidence of benign tumors in pregnancy was 1 in 264 pregnancies and 121 deliveries, and none of malignancy was encountered. 2. The mean age was 27 uears old with 19 cases (59.3%) in nullipara and 34 years old with 13 cases (40.7%) in multipara. 3. twenty one cases (65.7%) were diagnosed in the first trimester, 5 cases (15.6%) in the second trimester, 5 cases (15.6%0 in the cesarean section and one case (3.1%) in the puerperium. 4. Thirty cases (93.7%) were unilateral and two cases (6.3%) were bilateral. The right side tunors were found in 16 cases (50%) and the left in 14 cases (43.7%). 5. Eight cases (25%) were within 5-6cm in diameter and 24 cases (75%0 over 6cm 6. As to the initial chief complaints, a free of symptoms and signs was found in 14 cases (43.7%) lower abdominal pain including colicky pain due to torsion of tumor in 10 cases (31.3%) vaginal spotting or bleeding in 5 cases (15.6%). 7. Among the 26 cases which were diagnosed in the first and second trimester, 8 cases were operated at 2-3 months gestation age, 16 cases at 4 months, 1 case at 5 months and 1 case was suggested a spontaneous regression at 4 months. 8. Accoring to the histopathological type, benign cystic teratoma was found in 12 cases (38.7%), serous cystadenoma in 8 cases (25.8%), mucinous cystadenoma in 6 cases (19.3%), corpus luteum cyst in 3 cases (9.7%0 and follicular cyst in 2 cases (6.5%). 9. The torsion of tumor, the only complication, was found in 5 cases (15.6%).
